  9. Asian Americans experience popular discrimination based on personality, hence the stereotype of submissive rational bandwagoning money-hoarders. Corroborating that stereotype (great grades but lacking originality and artistry) then gets used against the applicant, who was raised to expect that academic performance alone should be sufficient to earn a seat on campus. Suppressing what else were capable and passionate about is what's hurting Asian America. Ironically the solution involves rebelling against our parents' conservatism and explore riskier fields like entertainment and politics.

This is why they want to be "blind" to color, so that certain groups get conveniently funneled into certain roles without shedding light on their societal design.
