  1. It'd be far more costly to end up in WW3, which our taxes spent on the US military have deterred by ensuring no other (inevitably less tolerant) rival power gets too confident. That's why it's called Pax Americana, in the line of Pax Romana, Pax Mongolica, and Pax Britannica where a single military protected the trade routes of like a third of humanity in its time.
