  4. It was a rocky start, but the US did grant independence as promised and liberate the nation from the Japanese (who were much more rapacious colonizers). This is why the Philippines celebrates it's independence on June 12 (from Spain) instead of July 4 (from the US)

  7. The US might fall into some disorder if conservative reactionaries continue stubbornly fighting for their losing grip on the reality of the world. China however if they can't so much as seize and control all of Taiwan within a year or two (a real possibility considering the social and physical environment), there might not be much of a PRC left after its popular implosion once it becomes impossible to hide yet another Vietnam.
