  1. The CPC didn't do much fighting either, mostly hiding in the mountains and indoctrinating themselves on Communist philosophy. They were less inept and less corrupt than the KMT though, so the few engagements they did have were more successful which allowed them to elevate themselves as the superior alternative until they gained the whole Mainland.

A China theater game would be very politically sensitive... not only would you be fighting the Japanese, you'd also be fighting the CPC, fighting Chinese warlord remnants, dealing with a cartoonishly corrupt KMT Chinese government, half the missions are retreats and delaying actions, and the West would be indisputably protagonist when the Flying Tigers finally show up and The Hump flights begin.

  4. The PVA advantage only lasted a few months until the UN forces recalibrated their combined arms tactics to allow effective concentrated firepower to balance the local manpower deficit. Even today the Chinese would rather gloss over their performance at 지평리/砥平里 and what it meant for their whole involvement in Korea (their original mission was to wholesale destroy the UN forces, not just aid the North).

  5. Taiwan shouldn't, because then they'd fail to be self-reliant enough to defend itself from a foreign invader of any sort. Plus the KMT was an equally autocratic ideologue to their CPC opponent, Taiwan democratized only like 30 years ago.
