@jimmyhuang8382 Social sciences and humanities are important too, if not only to prevent a descent into becoming a mad scientist, but also helping you consider what motivates people and can get them to care about your work, and ensure what you make isn't going to create a consumer revolt or other disturbing implications down the line.
For example, my degree is in sociology, and I tinkered with computers and networks since grade school. I put the two together into cybersecurity because human users themselves are the weakest link in a network, and through my studies in rhetoric and social psychology come up with ways to steer people away from bad habits and towards best practices.
I see humanities as a fundamental part of society, because these arts and frivolities are what differentiate us from robots that merely follow commands, have difficulties creating solutions to unexpected situations, and whose satisfaction does not matter. Notice how heavily STEM-minded folks are too often horrible managers, and don't rise very far in leadership positions.
