  1. Right, even in Chinese classes I make the extra effort to learn the Traditional form because of its overall clarity and beauty. Plus Traditional is more common when encountering Chinese script outside of China and Africa. Ironically Simplified doesn't seem to make learning and reading it that much easier. Táiwān and overseas Chinese have been teaching the Traditional form just fine. What would help more is if everyone harmonized romanization through Hànyǔ Pīnyīn, which unlike their character simplifications is at least very consistent.
