  1. More like mass migration out of entry-level jobs as remote work opens up opportunities for lower-paid workers overseas without the hassle of visas and assimilating them. Then ultimately automation takes over.

  2. It's art work though. Very very very few who try get enough patronage to make it their only occupation. Practically all these "influencers" rely on at least a part-time formal job as they try to develop their presentation skills, equipment, unique selling point, production team, and fanbase.

  3. Perhaps look lower in the OSI Model. Writing and debugging code is a nice skill to have, but the ability to troubleshoot through all eight layers from human user to power socket is invaluable and chronically understaffed. Yeah that Help Desk job is a suckfest but that experience quickly opens up inroads to the back-end like cybersecurity, network engineering, upgrade projects, and actual management. That's how I made my way into IT, and my degree was in Sociology. Turns out there's a pretty big need bridging and steering human desires with best practices on the information systems.

  5. Hence why so many men across America voted MAGA. They crave that sense of worth from project-based occupations that were offshored and automated away, which service grinds and wokeness have failed to substitute for.

  6. Maybe should have went into nursing instead: chronically understaffed, surrounded by female classmates, and always appreciated for helping haul the limp bodies of knocked-out patients.
