  2. People are stubborn, too often dismissing even the original deadly strain as "just the flu". China's heavy handedness probably did eliminate uncontrolled spread at some point, but they wasted the opportunity to get people ready to fight it off themselves through effective vaccines and increased medical capacity.

  3. We've all had that freedom, even in China they're not forcibly vaccinating people. Problem is the options the Mainland government permits are also useless; Mainlanders have been going to HK and Macau for Western ones that work.
