Hawaiian sovereignty would likely just end up the same way unless it accepts being played by the US, Japan, China, and Russia similar to how it was before America took control.

  9. Beijing does not want Taiwan to decide, because they know the vote will be against the PRC especially after what happened with Hong Kong. Hence why Taipei keeps trying to attract more American attention to deter a forceful seizure by the Communist Mainlanders.
