  2. On bulk carrying trains and especially ships it’s actually not that much per additional ton. CO2 is a global effect, but it would be the Chinese breathing all that sulfur and mercury and other breeze blown pollutants.

  3. Also uneconomical to build for coal when gas is cheaper and more effective, with further pressure from dropping prices in renewables. China keeps building them because they’re trying to maintain their subsidized electricity prices, and are taking on debt accordingly.
