Yeah if anything the pale plastic result actually makes them look more sickly, which is the opposite of what personal beautification aims for. Plus the little flaws makes them more human and approachable; I can’t think of one woman including celebrities who are more attractive with makeup on than fully barefaced.

I never found transportation to be a problem, even when it’s only night buses coming twice an hour. Sometimes I prefer the bus even if it takes a bit longer because it can be more direct, and they have free WiFi that you don’t need a registered Korean SIM subscription to access unlike with the metro. Also T-Money is cash only, regardless of if you top up at a kiosk or in a convenience store. Finally if you have a quick stop coming off the metro going elsewhere, take a bus to the next subway station. Metro-bus and bus-bus transfers are free up to 3 or 4 times if you tap on within 30 min of tapping out, so a metro-bus-metro trip counts as a single “journey” charging as if you were in the subway the whole time.

It was a subordinated vassal for the longest time though, until Joseon declared itself an empire, tore down Yeongeunmun, and tried to assert equal footing with China.

If anything it's worse in Korea because of the strong groupthink and deadly levels of shaming. There's very little alternative lifestyles that are considered respectable, like all blue collar workers tend to get looked down upon even if they're earning a bigger paycheck in fewer and more consistent hours.

@JunaMarvis Funny that’s the thinking, because to me pale skin tends to amplify flaws on top of looking more sickly. I’m light skinned for a SE Asian to the point that I’m usually mistaken for Korean. I also imagine my ideal partner to not be any more white than I.

Have you been to Seoul? There are churches with visible crosses like every three blocks. Also notoriously cultish megachurches, and you can't go a week without some churchgoer trying to recruit you if you understand Korean.

i.e. Poland practices the “well regulated” part that 2A nuts conveniently forget about

Communism and capitalism are opposite ends of the production spectrum. It's socialism and libertarianism that are opposite in _distribution_; and it's arguably the libertarian-enabled winner-take-most distribution of essential resources causing the self-destruction of modern societies.

He wouldn’t enjoy it there since Australia has many of the same issues of high expenses and picky misandrists as the America he escaped

By that logic would Americans have exemplary manners? Because do the the same in the US where they would understand, and you're likely to get Americans joining in the shittalking

@seans9096 apparently never suffered the displeasure of toxic leadership or a toxic work environment.

It's the value for money. In Poland you're not sucked into the narrowminded elite/loser judgments that Koreans readily express.
