  5. Driving is a skill, and it never hurts to collect skills. You don't need to own a car to be licensed for one. But you'll likely need it to get around in developing locales where upward economic potentially really exists -- most prominently in places where two wheels is often preferable to four -- and where public transit usually isn't.

There's a reason that education and young family welfare always gets gutted to salvage the budget for senior benefits and ownership tax breaks.
