Smallpox accident was mandated, and cases of smallpox were eliminated. Polio vaccine was welcomed, thank god, because many people died or had permanent disabilities from polio. Measles, mumps, chicken pox, formerly dangerous illnesses, uncommon except among anti-vaxxers. When my brother and I had chicken pox in the late 1940s, we were quarantined for three weeks, because it was highly contagious, and the Delta variant is much more contagious.
