  2. One section of the poor may blame another but it's the government that has led us into this mess. We are the 5th or 6th richest country in the world.

  3.  @portman8909  You can eat food high in fat, sugar and calories. without being 'well fed'. Such food is cheap but not nutritious and is likely to increase weight. Lack of exercise is a problem. In the cold people will not exercise as much or if all their energies are focused on their kids and work, whether in the home or the workplace. They may not find time or have been out of the habit for too long.

  4. I suppose when things are going downhill they compare themselves to better times, not to the poorest in the world. The poorest in the world generally live in poor countries but the UK is not a poor country.

  5.  @portman8909  Worry, stress, hopelessness, depression, and low self esteem, can contribute to people not valuing themselves enough to look after themselves.
