  2. Because they tell the truth. The Conservatives have just taken a BBC announcement about more government money for education and put it on their website with a headline doubling the amount of money. All you get is propaganda unless you have a TV station whose charter obliges it to be fair, truthful and non-biased. That doesn't mean you won't hear views and opinions you don't like, but you will hears opposing views too and the BBC will be paying people to check facts before publicising them.
