People are still abiding by mask wearing on public transport. I'll be wary of using it if there are no masks, even though I've had the vaccinations. The poor drivers will be at risk again. The government's view seems to be, if people haven't been vaccinated - tough.

@paulhoye9680 O so it's necessary to watch only one specific news channel with a particular take on things to 'educate yourself'. Being educated, I prefer to follow the science.

@tentaklaus9382 I don't expect people to isolate themselves unless they have Covid and maybe they'd only need to distance themselves rather than isolate themselves if they live with people who have been vaccinated. It won't damage people's health to wear masks to prevent them from giving Covid to others in confined areas like on public transport. Your dismissal of Covid as 'flu' is unscientific, but even flu can kill. We should all be more respectful of others and try not to infect them, or would you be o.k with someone feeling free to cough all over you in a confined environment?

@paulhoye9680 I haven't deleted any comments at all. People can't delete other people's comments anyway. They can only report them and I've not done that. The only way comments can be deleted is if someone deletes their own comment and it is the first one in a chain of comments, then all the responses to that comment will disappear along with the original comment, but I've deleted none of my comments on this page. I've no idea what 77 brigade is. What have you been smoking?

@paulhoye9680 Multiple channels can't keep spouting lies. They would lose their reputations and their advertisers. In the UK they would lose their licence to broadcast. Ofcom, the regulator would end their licences and shut them down. You can always visit independent fact check sites if you believe something to be untrue, but selecting one single conspiracy site is not finding the truth, it's finding something that agrees with what you want to believe.

@tentaklaus9382 Masks aren't designed to 'isolate you from others'. They are designed to prevent or reduce the spread of the virus when you are with others. Whether isolation is worse for your health than Covid depends on your circumstances and how likely Covid is to kill you. Those with underlying health conditions, obesity or the elderly will be more vulnerable to dying from the virus, but not exclusively so. We're not talking about everyone isolating, only those who have Covid. After all, even with other illnesses, it's not advisable for people to go to work if they are going to infect others. I remember someone at work who had the norovirus (remember that?) He was vomiting for weeks - most unpleasant, but he did stay off work and did not give it to those around him. The problem with Covid is that not everyone has symptoms so they don't always know they have it and could spread it to others. Testing is important to identify those cases.

@tentaklaus9382 P.S If someone mugged you in the street, presumably you'd be angry with them, but if they gave you Covid, causing you to be ill for weeks, or even longer (long Covid) because of their unwillingness to take simple measures to prevent spread, you'd be o.k with that would you?

@paulhoye9680 You can insult me all you like, because you have no evidence for your paranoid assertions, and nothing else to say.

@tentaklaus9382 There's no easy answer in such times, none without detriment. I had cancer and had my operation delayed during the lockdown period, but lockdown also protected me from Covid which would certainly have killed me had I caught it.

@tentaklaus9382 No but I have chronic asthma and I also have diabetes. I've also recently had cancer and am having treatment which might affect my immune system. I have some young adults in my house and they have been fine with the protective measures.

@wolfiestreet6899 Well, I'm following the officially submitted stats on cases, which have bene increasing day upon day recently https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

@tentaklaus9382 You make decisions for you. As for your advice to me, that's claptrap.

@dantuber4738 I'm not naive, but I'd have to look through over 400 comments to find the one from me that you were commenting on, so forgive me if I don't bother.

Just wait for the banker's take on the NHS. Is he going to start by appointing useless but easily manipulated Dido Harding to head up the NHS? Next step, bring in more American companies who will depress wages or cut services.
