  1. I don't know how his name is meant to be pronounced, but I heard a TV announcer pronounce it like 'made off' which seems appropriate since he made off with all the money.

  2. I understand it wasn't all rich people he stole from. The newspaper (Daily Mail) said 'His victims, large and small, included individuals, charities, pension funds and hedge funds' and headlined it 'He stole from the rich. He stole from the poor. He stole from the in-between'.
