It's the cases of the Indian variant that have risen. It's not a general or overall rise so far. The Indian variant is more easily transmitted. Travel from India was not closed down early enough, and this variant affects younger people too, so the easing of lockdown measures will have contributed to the spread.

@fatbobe1986 I know you didn't mention India but I did because asked how cases have risen so I explained it to you. The NHS is not protected. We could easily spiral into a situation where it's overwhelmed if precautions to avoid a spread of the new variant are not taken.
