  1. I don't understand why people in the USA have to register for a particular party. That's not a requirement in the UK for instance. You can join a political party there but it's entirely voluntary and you can vote as you wish. Can someone please explain this US difference to me? Who benefits by having a party registration system?

  3.  @KatBrat808  I didn't realise the parties had separate polling stations. Having fewer less accessible ones for certain parties does sound like gerrymandering. Is there no system for checking someone didn't vote twice?
