I once visited a rubber factory as a child. The sight of many colours of balloons on their moulds and the smell of rubber was heavenly. I was bought a couple of rubber squeaky toys. I still like the smell of rubber to this day. I didn't know such places still existed. My employer moved at least half of its staff to Leeds from London in the early 90s. I'm so glad I didn't go but I think many places that were thriving then are struggling now. I knew the economy would shrink once we left the EU, but when I said that many people refused to believe it. It was labelled 'project fear'. Many of these empty buildings are beautiful but how long before they deteriorate?
