  7.  @stephenongley6885  It's not that they didn't give a 'rats arse about the dangers of smoking'. They weren't aware of them in those times. I think it was as late as the 1970s when the dangers of smoking began to be realised and publicised. People probably were happier but then my smoker Dad died far too young of lung cancer and so did most of his friends.
