  6. Chromatic Beardiant. I thought you'd mention the spelling of spelt :-) Yes, in the UK we use spelt and in the US they use spelled but US spellcheck so dominates the world that I think over time people in the UK will use US spellings more.

  7. Chromatic Beardiant. Thank you for your opinion. I'll give you mine in return. I find English in the UK more precise, concise and eloquent than the American version. Americans are often verbose which they mistake for sounding clever and they sometimes misuse words as a consequence or sound completely unintelligible. However, I am biased of course.
