Not really. It reflects theological struggles and it's not as if there haven't been flaws visible in the Catholic church even in modern times. That doesn't make it blasphemous.

Not really. There are human flaws (not any surprise these days) but also a struggle for integrity which is quite heartening.

That's not the purpose of the film. It wasn't written by the faithful. It's an imaginary story based on a novel.

It's not a 'promotion' of anything. It's a showing of an imaginary storyline based on a context that does happen when a Pope dies..

No the ending is quite fascinating and raised a lot of questions in quite a clever way. After all, it's part of God's creation and Hollywood didn't create that storyline. The author of the book, Robert Harris did. It wasn't really about gender identity. There's no identity crisis revealed but there is the complexity of what God has created and the attitude of the church to that.
