  1. Simon and Garfunkel took Scarborough Fair from English folksinger Martin Carthy but they never gave him any credit for a long time. Martin Carthy did not write it. It's a traditional song (anon) but Martin Carthy put the tune to the song. S&G made it up with Martin Carthy later on.
