Boris is such a practised liar that he has a fund of weasel words to try and dodge responsibility.

That woman in the stripey suit is talking like an extremist, grossly miscategorising marches for a ceasefire in Gaza and a free Gaza.
95
Voting Tory and voting for Brexit has done such damage.
58
@An-Alien-On-Earth What? Are you saying starving Palestinians are greedy? You are well named being truly from another planet.
51
@williammohan9784 or perhaps you could change the h and a in your name to r and o
43
@peterreeves6825 His hedge fund moved to Ireland but recently I read that it's closed down because most of the investors abandoned it. Lol.
34
He's been 'talking to the manufacturers'. He's been doing some homework. He's been consulting experts. He's been discussing a plan. He's been doing something useful. What a load of lazy useless politicians we have in government now, in comparison.
30
The £2000 Labour tax and saying these were Treasury figures. Have you not been listening to this video?@Jackssw
30
@ciararespect4296 So Kent is much better off now?
26
If I'm white but identify as black I can still go, it seems. No one can challenge self-identification.
24
@namei8967 I don't think you've looked at the facts of this case to come out with such generalised twaddle.
23
@tenniskinsella7768 Keep up. The Labour Party's not been in power for 13 years.
20
The Tories are not interested in much other than preserving their own wealth.
15
People who are publicly subsidised include MPs with their subsidised bars, food and housing. Are they going to give that up because the country is going through a cost of living crisis and the public finances are under pressure?
15
Education is very important for understanding how the world works ( and for being able to spell 'immigration' correctly). The uneducated are vulnerable to simplistic solutions, often hateful and violent ones because anything else is too difficult to grapple with.
13
Space hoppers will be handed out by the Tories so people can experience 'bounce back'. That's 'the plan'.
13
@pipins3616 He inherited wealth.
12
They weren't even in a fighting zone, apparently.
12
Sunak would probably refer him to PREVENT.
11
@amcc5887 That hedge fund has closed down I heard but he's not short of wonga.
11
@asw16177 You that voted leave have seen no benefits from your Brexit delusion and that's a problem for everyone.
11
Tax on fuel has not been raised for ages and is not being raised now. Thank your luck you don't rely on public transport. Have a beer. Tax is going down on that. The minimum wage is rising. Allowances for carers are rising. Really only those with more discretionary money available to spend on additional assets will be taxed more e.g. on profits on those assets when sold or inheritance tax after death. Employers will be taxed more but smaller employers with have exemptions.
11
If Labour get the economy growing again and the cost of living down or pay goes up, these people will start voting Tory again I fear. They will fall for the siren call of the Tories who claim to support aspiring workers to reach their ambitions. Most think of individual circumstances and not the welfare of the country as a whole.
11
@simonmaskell365 His name is in Private Eye Magazine. The Head of Manchester police I understand.
11
That wouldn't get you enough of a mortgage to buy in London where Eddie Dempsey lives and you have to have saved a hefty deposit. In any case he's only recently got that salary.
10
'British values' will end up being what the Tories say they are, even though they themselves may not necessarily abide by what is often considered to be among them (such as tolerance, fairness and democracy).
10
In this case the card has been dealt by a Tory donor without any prompting.
10
Re the 'most convincing part of her speech', what she was (unwittingly) referring to in her experience in Scotland was not about growth but about fair distribution of wealth. The Tories have never been about fair distribution of wealth and are not now.
10
Because you didn't understand the facts here and the disaster it will be for the UK economy, if there's no deal with the EU? All hard Brexiteers should be forced to share the economic deficit from Brexit among themselves.
9
He stands for ensuring government does nothing to prevent the wealthy from continuing to enrich themselves at everyone else's expense. He was in a hedge fund whose actions partly caused the financial collapse of 2008.
9
@georgeplatt4612 That's delusional. If there were English people wanting and qualified for the jobs they would have taken them by now but there are ever increasing numbers of vacancies in the NHS that can't be filled.
9
@Confessionofteenagenuns Well that probably because you only read Tory press. The Blair/Brown government reduced child poverty through child benefits and working tax credits and helped families with under school age children with Sure Start Centres. Pay was higher under Labour and we got minimum wage and paternity leave and better maternity leave. Equalities legislation helped women and the disabled among others. The NHS had the lowest ever waiting lists and the best ever results in the patient satisfaction survey. N Ireland got peace. Scotland and Wales got devolved governments. They also actually built and renovated hospitals instead of pretending to like the Tories and put more investment into education.. They created education maintenance allowances for 16-19 year olds to help them afford to stay at school for A levels which benefited working class kids. Students did not have to pay back their student grants. There were more leisure centres and youth centres for teenagers so they had safe meeting places rather than hanging around the streets. There were fewer homeless people. I'm sure there's more.
9
The EU was not to blame for austerity but it became a convenient scapegoat.
9
Free to be pumped with fake news.
8
@reko7264 The British people do protest, they just don't normally riot like the French do.
8
@SillySausage2024 Those are the children (other people's children) that will be looking after the childfree when the childfree hit the care home stage or need social services. Children of the next generation pay the tax to fund the pensions of the older generation, the state pensions that everyone gets. They are also providing the cheap services that allow those with money (the childfree) to live a nice life.
8
Everyone's cannon fodder to Boris.
8
You should look at his voting record before making judgements. He's more right-wing than you might think.
8
@AT-gr4qx Why? She's not been convicted of anything, unlike many Tories.
8
@Confessionofteenagenuns A decade ago Labour was not in power and could not do anything against a Tory government with a huge majority.
8
I don't think moving her hair was 'physical violence', but it's just rude and unmannerly. The woman is antediluvian but she has stepped down from her post now.
8
There were softer Brexit options that the Tories ignored, such as remaining in the customs union or the single market. Those would have taken out the bureaucracy. However full membership is the best option but probably not deliverable now in this generation.
8
@grtcara8386 Stop blaming boomers. That is just scapegoating. Boomers are often now supporting the younger generation in order to help them out and not all boomers vote Tory.
8
A second dose of the poison won't cure the effects of the first.
8
The NI protocol does not cause Brexit problems in NI more than in the rest of Britain. It's actually a better deal for NI than without the protocol - a better deal for the economy in NI than the rest of Britain. The majority of people in NI want the government to implement it fully. It's only the DUP that are strenuously complaining and that's really for underlying political reasons, but the DUP are motivated only by hate and fear - the desire for one part of the NI community to hold onto power at the expense of the other part, and fear of NI people preferring to solve the border issue via a united Ireland.

@9418matthew Do you know what trading on WTO rules (hard Brexit) would mean for the UK? No single country in the world trades solely under WTO rules because it's like being in the trading 4th division instead of the Premier League which is being part of a large trading block of having deals with them. Under WTO rules the UK would have to set a single tariff the same for all trading partners whereas in the EU we trade tariff free. If we set a tariff that will push the prices of all imports up so the cost of living will go up for everyone. If we set a zero tariff (perfectly possible), imports may become cheaper but we will be importing from countries where workers have no rights and are paid a pittance because they will produce the cheapest goods. This will undermine safety standards and wipe out British industry and farming as they won't be able to compete with such countries, as our workers and animals have rights. Also we'd be charging the EU zero tariffs while they could charge us 40% tariffs, making it uncompetitive for us to export. Most countries, like the USA are going down the protectionist route, protecting their home industries and China and Russia make if difficult to impossible for anyone to export to them. It will be a an economic disaster. Even the economist Patrick Minford, who is pro Brexit and pro using WTO terms, admits it will destroy British industry and agriculture. He does not mind about that. Brtain as a member of the EU currently has over 4000 trade deals with other countries. Those will immediately lapse as soon as we go out on a hard Brexit and Liam Fox only has 4 deals to put in their place. Trade deals usually take years to negotiate because of their size and complexity. There's no way there are not going to be massive consequences with a hard Brexit.
7
He just casts unfounded slurs and prejudices knowing that the Mayoral election is coming up. It's transparent.
7
@jantyszka1036 Most of us care.
7
We hear you. It's the politicians who are not listening.
7
@SillySausage2024 They may have elderly parents who'll need care or have family members with health issues. Why would we want to meet everyone that public tax funded services are helping?
