  1.  @kepnjem  Blair didn't leave the country skint. He wasn't P.M in 2008, Gordon Brown was, and it was a worldwide banking crisis (a crisis of deregulated capitalism) that caused Britain to have to spend billions propping up the banks, and the crisis started first in the USA with sub prime mortgages which borrowers could not afford to repay because their ability to repay was ignored. Then many banks worldwide took a slice of the business and it sunk them. It wasn't just British banks that were affected.

  2. This title is silly and illogical and incorrectly paraphrases what the Professor said. Of course conservatives losing in 2024 would be unprecedented, because there is no other year 2024 which could be a precedent.
