@andreasl4507 The owners didn't want relegation. They wanted it to be a gravy train that never ended. Eventually after establishing a bigger world audience, they would have called it the World Super League, moved it to the USA, started changing the rules, like dropping the offside rule and maybe even got round to match fixing, or, when the value of the clubs doubled, they would have got out and left it to other businessmen who cared even less about football. Football detached from its true fans and origins, just run like a circus, as nothing more than just another money making enterprise.

@Mr.Ditkovich. Do you not see the way this would be heading in future? After they got a bigger world audience they would have called it a World Super League, moved its base to the USA, dropped the offside rule to make it 'more exciting' for gamblers and fans, and easier to play for less skilled players. It would not be sport any more, but 'sport entertainment', just another circus seen as no more than any other means of making money. These people don't really care about football. If you've any pride in your team, don't fall for it.

We musn't be complacent. These guys will still be plotting their next move behind the scenes. They won't have given up on the idea completely.
