  1. They thought the fans would allow them to detach their teams from the local fans and the rest of the teams in their leagues and to turn a sport into 'sport entertainment'. No promotion and no relegation, just a gravy train for the owners that would roll on and on. The Glazers haven't even got round to painting the Man U stadium.

  2.  @talboyovGY  I think the final aim would have been to change the name to World Super League (of soccer) and move it to be based in the USA and drop the offside rule to make it more 'entertaining'. Celebrity performances and cheerleaders would be used to create an artificial 'atmosphere' and replace genuine spontaneous response from fans.
