  2. This is how I saw the ESL going (if it had gone ahead). It's supported by a lot of gambling industry money, TV money, sponsorship and advertising. The owners love the fact that there's never a threat of relegation so the gravy train is endless. Once a bigger worldwide audience is established including a big American audience, the owners change the name to World Super League and base it in the USA. To make it more exciting for fans and gamblers, and easier for American players to succeed in it, they start to tinker with the rules and get rid of the offside rule. Big celebrity acts perform at half time in certain important matches. Cheerleaders are hired to make up for lack of atmosphere and lack of traditional response from fans. It's no longer football as we know it. Match results are fixed in advance?
