If Rod Liddle doesn't take her seriously, she must be doing something right. Nothing she said was factually wrong. The apology is because the BBC is under threat from the government which threatens to scrap the TV licence. If anyone is bullying it's the government bullying the BBC. Also the BBC apologising did not say what Rod Liddle says they said. They said she was summarising questions to be put following her introduction and that wasn't made clear. I don't think that's right either, but it was the BBC trying to save face and meet the government's requirement for an apology at the same time.
