  1. He went in to get papers to enable him to marry his Turkish partner and according to her, he didn't think he would be in danger in an embassy that was within Turkey. Both he and his partner had strong links to senior and influential figures in Turkey. Besides which he wasn't a strong dissenter. His criticism was quite mild. I don't think he realised how impulsive and imbalanced MBS was.
