@1chish The Tories are the experts at smearing.
1
It's the banks willingness to gamble with our money that will bring on the next crisis. If Boris really cared about British financial sector welfare though, he wouldn't be going into a hard Brexit.
1
@PBas-qq4uh If the question is a reference to Ministers, yes. If it's a reference to Civil Servants like Wormauld, they are not allowed to take second jpbs.
1
Democracy's not dead. It just f*cked up voting this government in
1
@TeeTee-dz8xj He asked a question though he forgot the question mark. I answered his question.
1
@grapefruitshortwave1071 I think you'll find, if you look it up, that sentences beginning with Who, What Where, When, or How etc are classed as questions grammatically. Don't they teach grammar these days? I imagine it was a rhetorical question (i.e one that does not require an answer), but I thought I'd answer it anyway.
1
@MattyMooreChannel Well Boris nearly died from it.
1
@mylon5227 How do you know? The NHS staff who cared for him confirmed it and they had no love for Johnson. They were at pains to clarify that he got the same care as every other patient they cared for, as he seemed to talk as if he had special care but they never corrected what he said about the seriousness of his condition.
1
@mylon5227 why would he hire paid actors who seemed so annoyed with him and keen to correct his misrepresentations? How could they tell lies and that the hospital would not correct? Not everyone is corrupt outside of the political world and especially not inside the NHS hospitals that would not put up with any such misrepresentations.
1
He thinks he's still fighting the last election.
1
@Tezo1981 His name was Joel Cauchi if you are keeping up with the news and he was a schizophrenic who had mental health problems from his teens. He was also a male escort offering services to men and women.
1
@BIBIWCICC No, not like that guy.
1
@thethinkingman- More interesting than your comment anyway.
1
@thethinkingman- Ponder away.
1
*pissed off not pissed, unless you are an American. However if it gets too bad next year I expect a lot of us will be drinking to get pissed.
1
@annoyingbstard9407 How is he right when the remoaners here are saying they are pleased and relieved by this?
1
@charlietm4350 You don't seem to know what's happening. The UK has said it's legislating to illegally break the Brexit withdrawal agreement they signed with the EU last year - the one that protects the Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland. The US has said there will be no trade deal between the US and the UK if the UK goes ahead and breaks the Good Friday Agreement aspects of the Withdrawal Agreement.
1
@TheClassicalSymphony No one can know what someone thinks unless they express it.
1
@paulkavanaghk No one can know what people think unless they express their thoughts.
1
@paulkavanaghk The police police illegal activity. Hate speech is illegal but you can think you hate someone without expressing it in speech or writing.
1
@lewis123417 The Uk legislators decided that hate speech that encourages or stirs up violence against its citizens is not something it wants to tolerate. It's against its core values. Slander and libel are also free speech but you can be sued for using those 'freedoms' too.
1
@lewis123417 Where speech is blocked though not 'illegal' it's often down to the actions of corporations who don't want to lose customers by being associated with unpopular views. It's down to 'the market'. They are undoubtedly being over-sensitive but they won't take risks.
1
@TheClassicalSymphony Within the law.
1
@TheClassicalSymphony You are free to say that. That's not the same as hate speech.
1
@lewis123417 Hate speech is a crime. I think it's within the equalities legislation.
1
@peeceei7470 Did they search her because they were suspicious of why she was standing in the street? Maybe they thought she might be selling drugs. You don't find people's thoughts by searching them.
1
@lewis123417 I thought that encouraging violence against people or inciting killing of certain groups of people was punishable. I remember Anjem Choudhary being sent to prison for over 5 years for urging support for ISIS.
1
@davidedwards1336 A taunt from the infant playground but typical of Boris with his lack of integrity and dignity.
1
You could see clearly that the needle went in. There was that little moment when the skin resists before it goes in.
1
@Gracie1344 People are often so cynical now and yet, at the same time many are often willing to believe any barmy unsubstantiated conspiracy theory. They choose what to believe based on what they'd like to believe - consumer choice. Lol.

@maxmorris4562 It's not a 99% survival rate, more like 98% but lets not split hairs. Some of the more recent variations, seen around the world, have higher death rates. The alternative to vaccinations is longer lockdowns, unless you want to end up like India with hospitals overwhelmed and having to reject patients. One of the reasons the death rate isn't higher is that hospitals are treating and saving lots of people. Survivors though can suffer from permanent damage or long term symptoms. This is known as 'Long Covid' and there are over 1 million of sufferers in the UK, so around 1 in 4 of cases. Vaccinations are new but build on the vaccination knowledge and science that already exists. Millions of people have been vaccinated now so the level of risk is known and it is far far less than the risk of Covid but if you are young you may decide just to risk Covid instead, and rely on your immune system. The rise in world population to 7 billion is very recent in historical terms. It was only about 2.7 billion when I was born. The reason that life expectancy has increased so much is because of sanitation, better nutrition, and health services (including the availability of vaccines).
1
@maxmorris4562 It's a small risk. I've had both doses of the AZ vaccine as my risk from Covid would be much higher than my risk from the vaccine.
1
Probably caught through cyber detection rather than snitching.
1
@pauldunne5230 Yes I've looked into it. I don't think you have.
1
@pauldunne5230 but Boris agreed to this last year when he signed the withdrawal agreement. It's nothing new. The EU aren't controlling our trade, but if we are leaving the EU there has to be customs between the UK and the EU otherwise it's just leaving a backdoor for smugglers to bring goods into the EU that may not meet their standards and or pay their tariffs, thereby undermining the single market.
1
Yes, well he has the day job to do.
1
Everyone tried to tell you during the election process.....
1
He is a spokesperson. That's his job, and he is complying with the lockdown. He can't personally control everyone. The police are there to tackle rule breaking.
1
@Theexcellorator64 Well they can't disperse them before it happens. I'm guessing the marchers didn't put an advance request to the police to march legally.
1
@lumazzoni *Cabinet
1
Perhaps they won't be able to after everyone else has seen this video.
1
@Rimadim dim No. He left because he thought he was going to get promoted and then he didn't. This is a power struggle about who runs the country - Cummings and his ally Caine, or do elected representatives get a say.
1
@clivet3252 Boris was always going to engage lawyers to help his defence, and we the taxpayers are paying for them.
1
@clivet3252 I seem to remember that the phone hacking inquiry also had lawyers questioning the witnesses. Is it really that unusual.
1
@user-ug8wx5er1w Are you proposing a war with Ireland after we've so recently ended 900 years of oppression or conflict there? That is mad. Joining the customs union would be far easier - no paperwork at borders, no tariffs, no delays in trade, no border issues with NI or ROI. It costs a lot of money to wage a war.
1
@WarDogYtPersonal You know nothing, Jon Snow. The NI protocol was suggested and agreed by the UK government but it seems Boris never had any intention of implementing it. You can't mess the EU around like that. They will hold the UK to its agreement. In any case there is no other solution while NI is in the UK with a border with an EU country. If there was another solution all the experts from the UK and the EU working on this problem for the last 4 years would have found it.
1
@algo2957 He hasn't been in power yet so he hasn't had the chance to be what you allege.
1
@dragonfly6908 Let's hope he does get the keys. It's our only hope. His money only comes from the value of the house he owns as house values have shot up in London and the south in recent years and from the money he's earned through making the most of his education and getting a good job as a lawyer. I don't think he has multi-millions though. Do you not admire people who make their own way in the world, who have earned everything they have rather than just being born into wealth and making money from having money? What's wrong with that? He only abstained as a protest because he didn't think the financial support was enough but I expect the Tory media has twisted that and you've been swallowing what they say.
1
@dragonfly6908 However we are living in a more scientific age and scientists and medical experts over the last few years warned the government that a pandemic was the top risk for the country, and made recommendations for the government to prepare for it, all of which the Tory government ignored. The government also continued to ignore expert advice and only took action when it was too late and took ineffective action too, so they do have to take their share of the blame
1
@dragonfly6908 You think they've done their best under the circumstances? Those are circumstances they've created in some cases which they could have avoided. You are too kind. A government can give a crap performance and you will forgive them, even though they were informed by experts and chose to ignore them. I think we get the governments we deserve in that case.
