@mogdaboi If Trump is the leader of the free world, the free world is in deep shit. We need someone with a brain. Out of those two, Merkel definitely wins on response to Covid 19. I'm perhaps not surprised that you don't know enough about her to see her merits since you can't even spell her name.

@mogdaboi ' I'd have' or I'd've not 'I'd of'. Don't Trump supporters get an education? Merkel is equal to the task of what she's taken on. When you think that Germany had to make a success of the reunification of Germany, which involved the integration of East Germany with West Germany - an East Germany whose economy was vastly different from that of West Germany, and they did it successfully, the integration of German society will not be such a problem, particularly as they have a successful economy and a sensible intelligent leader. Trump made America wealthier for the wealthy, not for the ordinary Joe who can become bankrupt if he gets a serious illness and whose wages have flatlined or reduced. He's not made it safer when the USA is leading the world in the number of Covid 19 cases and Trump constantly flip flops and flaps uselessly in his response to that. Trump couldn't even manage his own businesses successfully and has quite a few failures behind him, only surviving because his debts were so big that his creditors couldn't afford to see him go under - a fine role model for nobody.

@therb6365 I understand the English. I don't understand why you would address that comment to me. What untruth have I stated? I'm not American so I don't vote for the blues. (There's no apostrophe in blues, so it seems it's you that can't write). You vote for exploitation then. You are one of those who love being exploited or love exploiting others.

@Gaius__ I'm not a legal expert so I'm not going to try and figure that, out but I read that it was thought to be too difficult to get agreement for a constitution after WW2. The difficulty was 'resolved' by the the can being kicked down the road.

@thedom6209 I think the comment of mine you are responding to, was my response to someone who said Trump was the leader of the free world rather than Merkel, and my comment was meant as a disagreement with that statement. I'm not going to make any more comments on this thread now because it is so long, it takes me ages to scroll down and find any comment addressed to me.

@boulognedominique1364 I believe now it was some fudge to get agreement at the time, with the idea of a formal constitution to follow (which never happened).

@Gaius__ O.K. I'm sure you know more than me about it, but considering that it hasn't got a constitution and is still technically at war with the US, Germany seems to get on pretty well these days.
