The Labour plan, on the other hand won't be paid for by taxpayers in the form of later tax rises or public service cuts, it will be paid for by windfall taxes on the wholesale energy companies who are raking in the excess profits at the moment.

@Colin623 You know that was because of a world collapse in banking which also affected British banks and the Labour government plugged the gap and persuaded other countries to do the same thus saving international capitalism and economies from collapse due to a crisis of confidence? It also saved people's savings from disappearing but you can thank them later. The cause was a whole network of world banks buying into debt from sub prime mortgages in the USA.

@Colin623 The thing is that every comment I've seen like that before has always been from someone having a dig at Labour's economic management. Glad to hear that wasn't your implication.
