  1. They are surrounded by people who have similar mindsets and that shores up their own. In certain areas life is nice and they see trivial things like 'wokeism' as the main issue, and are content to be selfish and small minded, and prefer those who facilitate their selfishness and small mindedness. Thinking deeply or researching anything is not their strong suit.
