Remember Angela Rayner got into trouble for calling them scum.

Houchen is focussed on the wrong things too, the enrichment of 2 business colleagues at public expense for no discernible public benefit.

The narrator's accent and intonation is lovely to listen to and the emphasis appropriate to the subject matter. Is the narrator a professional actor I wonder.

The Tories are so patriotic aren't they? Foreign run railways, and foreign owned utilities, foreign made passports and Ministerial cars. The Bufton Tuftons of this world will be spitting out their dummies but still voting Tory nevertheless.

If Susan Hall had won, would you have called it a victory for Christianity, or Atheism or whatever. In what small circles your mind must revolve.
14
What scares me is that if Labour fail (I hope they don't) and the Conservatives merge with Reform or vice versa, the country could swing to the far right in the next election.
13
Tice is the money and Farage is the mouth. Habib is not rich enough for them and has a foreign name and origins, not appealing to Reform followers. Ben Habib is naive. He has strong views on Northern Ireland and Brexit but doesn't understand either. He obviously didn't understand Reform either.

Truss's thinking is like that of a primary school child. She's the boss of the person she's blaming. She has ultimate responsibility. It's not as if she didn't know what was in the mini-budget.

As I recall JRM didn't suggest that Grenfell residents had ignored safety advice, but said that they should have ignored the fire brigade's safety advice to stay put and await rescue. He said they should have had the common sense to leave the building. A very unfeeling comment, suggesting that the victims only had themselves to blame. He was involved with a hedge fund that moved to Dublin after Brexit and has since closed down I believe, yet he told everyone that Brexit would be great. JRM when challenged on his TV show has often revealed his ignorance but many people don't realise it because he speaks 'properly' like a toff and with such confidence and not usually in a situation where someone more knowledgeable has challenged him.

She can't seem to make up her mind whether it's down to her class, bullying or a sinister conspiracy. Any old excuse will do, I suppose.
12
@gpw203 Ooh. You are a clairvoyant it seems. Give us some lottery numbers please or a tip for the horses. By the way the congestion charge is the responsibility of the recently re-elected Mayor of London, not the Prime Minister or the government.
11
That's not unusual for local or Mayoral elections if you do some research.

'Kwasi Kwarteng's prodigious package was pointing in the wrong direction so Liz Truss was happy to chop it off'. Lol. You're the master of the double entendre.
8
You couldn't make it up.

The working class voted for him. London has some of the poorest areas in the country and also some of the wealthiest. It has a younger population than most areas and consequently a more educated one. Weren't the Tories new ID rules for voters designed to eliminate some Labour voters? Against that background an overall near 4% swing to Labour after 2 terms is a good result. In the end people are judged on their record and their policies. That's one reason why the Tories can't persuade as many people to vote for them now, as their 14 year record in office tells against them.
7
They're fighting like ferrets in a bag now. I guess the most vicious will win and lead them to further destruction.
7
Was the electoral fraud you witnessed committed by more than one party?
6
It amazes me how any doctor can think or have thought that the Conservatives care about public services. Congratulations to him on finally connecting with reality.
6
I never got to hear it though I searched for it. Where did you hear it?
5
I can't see the Tories ever uniting. So many of them are not capable of compromise 'for the sake of the country' and they are divided ideologically.
4
Who is buying up this government? I think we should be told.
3
I think the wink was meant to denote. This is just what I have to say to keep the backbenchers happy. I'm not really attacking you.
3
On the video they are only talking about pro Brexit results of a GBTV poll. Where is the discussion of the statistica poll you referred to with 56% dislikes of Brexit?
3
In which place will she do less damage?
3
Before he was forced out.
3
Labour should not negotiate deals with them. They will try to bend Labour policies and they mostly just want to save their own skins.
3
@davidpowell6098 Lol.
3
Boris Johnson never appointed any competent Ministers. He didn't want any serious challenges.
2
Glad about the outcome, but Sir Keir Starter? Is he a Starmer impersonator?
2
I have grey eyes with yellow bits in the middle. (Not gray which is an American spelling for the colour).
2
He has resigned now.
2
You enjoy paying millions for no return do you? Perhaps we can send Suella there.
2
I once saw a youtube video of Dorries speaking with a friend and in like company their views and personalities came across as very nasty and self serving indeed.
2
Says every sore loser without a shred of evidence.

Go far far far away nads

Remember the contaminated blood scandal? Have those people been compensated yet? It was all dragged out like the Post Office scandal that allowed many people to die before being ever compensated. There are other such scandals in living memory. Hopefully this one will send enough of a shockwave to those in power to deter future ones and address past ones.
2
Only recently one of Putin's supporters has said that Russia should take back East Germany because it was theirs.
2
I believe all interviewers have producers talking into their earpieces. I'm not sure of the amount of control they exert. It might vary.
2
If she's the PM, she's the one responsible. I think Nadine Dorries had help in writing her book. Liz Truss probably could not find anyone to help or lacks the awareness that she needed it. She was elected by Tory Party members. That tells you all you need to know about Tory Party members. In an episode of 'The Rest is Politics' Alistair Campbell and Rory Stewart talked about her and what a childlike mind she has.

Every time I get a roofer's card through the door I check the details. Mostly they have fake addresses. When I look them up in Companies House it's always the same - less than a year in existence, no accounts, usually only one director. These companies can close down with no penalty after committing fraud on customers and re-open under a different name. 'Roofers' often come and tell me I have a loose tile on the roof. No one can see that from street angle. Goodness knows what they'd do or charge if I ever let them up there. I can see for myself from a flat roof at the back that there are no loose tiles. It's Inquiry for the formal governmental thing. Enquiry for just asking questions.
2
She doesn't acknowledge her own 'democratic deficit' of giving her constituents no representation for her pay since she first said she'd resign..
2
It looks like an old xmas tree.
2
Lukashenko's said he will site Russia's nuclear weapons in Belarus, but he also said previously that he would not attack Ukraine unless Ukraine attacked Belarus. He knows that Putin is itching to take over Belarus, so he treads a fine line between pleasing Putin but not wanting to wholeheartedly engage in Putin's attack on Ukraine.
2
The police said it was a matter for HMRC and HMRC said she didn't owe them anything (or words to that effect).

Rishi Sunak is probably more honest and has more integrity but he's very right wing and he's just appointed Suella Braverman to the Home Office, a woman lawyer who has no integrity and no respect for the law when it clashes with her political interests.
1
Unless you don't have a driver's licence or a passport. Then you have to apply for a special ID card from the council. Too few people can be bothered to vote as it is. More deterrents or barriers don't help the democratic system.
1
Is she wondering how much she could get for flogging it off? Dorries for P.M? This is the nightmare scenario. I don't know who would be worse, her or Braverman.
1
Sorry but I don't respect those who don't vote. They are content to leave us to the fates, or the decisions of others.
1
What a hissy fit. Boris caused a lot of the chaos by creating a hard Brexit with no proper consideration of the implications and no future plan and by ignoring democratic rules of procedure, even ignoring the law. That way lies anarchy or fascism but at the least it's impossible to govern if there are no rules or standards. He behaved more like a Roman Emperor than a Prime Minister.
1
Electing people in government - that's so last year for this government. We're seeing a takeover of government by the vested interests in the city of London without bothering with such niceties as voter support.
1
@blackbeard6423 He is a role model for it though. The extreme version.
1
It's a sign of Britain (or more accurately England) descending into a third world country. The irony is that in the past we didn't have computer systems and these, when they arrived, were supposed to make things quicker and easier but the Tory government has been cutting its departments budgets for public services and simply won't fund the necessary staff for border controls for instance and if it's not the government it's private companies being allowed to squeeze maximum profits for the lowest possible service provision. We are also a poorer country now since we left the EU.
1
'Nobbled with naughtiness' What a wonderful phrase.
1
The views of non voters cannot be known or taken into account. That's one reason why voting is important.
1
@chairmakerPete That's how democracy in the UK works. You can't force people to vote. It's their choice. By not voting they are giving up having a say, so a mandate can be claimed on the basis of those who voted.
1
@chairmakerPete What alternative system do you recommend? It used to be a multiple choice system but the Tory government changed it to first past the post' this time as they thought it would help their candidate. Khan had 43.8% by the way but I won't nitpick.. You can't assume that 85% did not support him. A good proportion may have thought he was certain to win and were content so didn't bother to vote (too lazy). That's the thing. Those who don't vote are voiceless by choice.
1
She would never have got a seat up there. Why Mid Beds voted for her, I've no idea.
1
It's not as if the hairdresser did much.
1
Farage will have to do a lot more distancing if his candidates air their views frankly. I'm sure this is the tip of the iceberg. How come Farage never notices their views until they become public.
