  2.  @Itried20takennames  Behind the hand-shaking and joint declarations of the new "multi-polar world" and the "downfall of the west", Russia and China are deeply distrusting of each other. From old claims on Imperial-era lands in the Russian Far East, to the Chinese copying Russian equipment and re-exporting it, both sides have a lot of beef with each other. China is probably rubbing its hands together as the Russians bungle their invasion of Ukraine. The weaker Russia gets, the less leverage it has over Beijing.
