@INSANESUICIDE No, Ukraine gave up its nukes because it was broke. By 1996, its oligarchs had plundered the country, and were absolutely happy to hand over its nukes for basically nothing.

The Biden administration is incredibly risk adverse, as they are more concerned with surviving November elections rather than having to deal with a collapsing Russia. The admin simply doesn't have the stomach for the conflict, and so are willing to buy into Russia's "red lines".
