  2.  @glorioustrap  Who is to say China's rise will last? An economic crisis could spell doom for the PRC.

  3.  @glorioustrap  The Chinese government is not very efficient. Many provincial governors fudge numbers to obtain more rosy signs of economic growth. Corruption is also widespread. I'm not "hoping" for an economic crisis, but one can happen, and the conditions in the PRC make it ripe to occur.

  4.  @nubitynub1757  Well, it was largely Japan that weakened the KMT which allowed the Communists to have a lot of success. Chiang Kai-shek came very close to finishing off the Communists, but the encroaching Japanese forced him to move troops to the border.
