Pregoishin, Ghirkin and the less important Romanov, ultra nationalists, are/were far more realistic and clear than the Russian governement, and probably right about the west prefering the long war of attrition, seen the simple facts and results we see today.
If russia collaps to soon, another Putin will go on, or falling apart to smaller nuclear states. Besides China can always ,,need,, some Russian ground and materials, food and energy.

It s unfortunatelly clear that the west is never in any hurry, except wrong inside views and advices and now lazy anonnymus critics as an excuse, from the comfortable armchair., to blame the Ukraine for the complete western failure.
Its not about the Ukraine to win at all, but slowly grinding down, damaging Russia, over the back of the Ukranians, as a win only will produce a new ,,Putin,,

Funny to see that Russia, as well China try to copy stealing and spying and react on (all) the U.S, and western technology, in stead of develloping those kinds of weapons themselves. This couldn t be achieved by the Sovjet Union, by financial and technologic means.
About China that imported a lot of Russian(bad) weapons read this:
Gravitas: China exports faulty war machines, countries complain about defective jets, radar & ships - YouTube
All made of Chinesium.? a modern short existing element.
Besides Russia and China are in fast decline, a normallity to expect from complete corrupted inefficient mafia systems, where loyalty and lies prevail on quality.
The biggest navies are: U.S., UK , Japan, good luck China, hopefully India and other countries stay calm, not cutting your food and energy imports or worse. Maybe asking uncle Putin for help?

About China invading Taiwan, made me think of Nazi Germany tried to invade England. Their plan was Operation Sea lion.
After lost the battle of England, the Germans failed in gaining air superiority, but even with air supperiority, there was still the far bigger Royal Navy. Even without those two powers, Germay had still to invade England by bad not seaworthy vessels. And after done that, their would be an inmense logistic problem, providing the german invasion troops, always being 22 miles cut of the continent, by the unpredictable Channel streamings and weather.
Maybe the Chinese did or should read this history, before repeating this low quality german Sea Lion plan, before trying the same on a 150 miles crossing toTaiwan, being 5x longer the sitting ducks on the sea.
Probably Russians would simply copy this bad plan.
A chinese D/day 1944 is even further out of reach, since satelites directly take notice of it, even before 1 ship leaves a harbour.
After all it s easy to cut of fast declining import dependend China from food and energy, far from the reach of it s fleet.
