The city(Nova Kakovka) is sometimes referred to as an oasis because it was built on an area where sand(!!) was plentiful. During the city's construction, sod was brought in to build its parks directly on the sandy ground. Architectural plans were developed to build streets and squares in harmony with the reservoir shoreline.(Wiki pedia). This means that the(summer level) river and it s banks has a solid sand bottom, like the dam construction. Also the canal to Crimea looks sandy.,, as well the found WWII skeletons and the sandy beachtype footprints on the former lake bottom, and as soon it drys up with those high season temperatures, the smaller summer river might be crossed, being not so defended anymore. It like the storming of the Normandy beach in 1944, where tanks etc.were used. It seems that the russians have an big outbrake of cholera etc. diseases, after drinking the river water. Their former defensive positions are gone with the flood.
