"Less well known is the paradox of tolerance: Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.—In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be most unwise. The Preamble to the US Constitution sounds pretty damn socialist:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Priority #1 is to form a more perfect Union for We the People, not build an economy that only serves a few.
Priority #2 is establish Justice and is why there are so many peaceful protests on the street.
Priority #3 is to insure domestic tranquility, also why peaceful protesters are on the street.
Now, Priorities #4 & #5 do both sound awfully similar to (and were seeds for) later paradigms of Karl Marx, pen-pal of Abraham Lincoln, and other progressive thinkers.
