Stopping vicious-cycles of abuse is literally the basis of progressive politics. The difference is that conservatives tend to stop thinking about the problems here, maybe having consigned the problems in their own minds to the realm of impossible or intractable to fix problems that are for someone else to think about or for God alone to manage. But having acknowledged that there are systemic inter-generational problems, what's the next course of action? Lowering our heads and shrugging our shoulders and sighing about how bad the world is? Or collecting empirical evidence for troubleshooting like technicians and building and implementing system upgrades like engineers?
