  2. Actually women tend to get harsher sentences than men on many crimes. Marissa Alexander was sentenced to 20 years for firing a warning shot into the wall near where her abusive husband stood. Kim Dadou received 17 years for fatally shooting her boyfriend (who had abused her for 4 years) after he climbed on top of her in his car and threatened to kill her. Meanwhile, in 2017 in North Carolina, a man convicted of stabbing his pregnant wife to death in their bedroom was released from prison after only 7 years. In Nebraska, a man who was found guilty of severing his wife’s head was allowed to reenter the community with supervision, after spending only five years in a psychiatric hospital.

  3.  @paanora440  Easy for you to say. Most rapists never even see the inside of a courtroom. A lot of women who have gone through the legal process say they would never blame another rape victim for not going through with the hellish process.
