yes this is part of a human personality factor called things like 'defeatism', 'traumatized status', etc that leads to various forms of confusion about one's own tribe visavis other tribes, e.g. the wealthy west.

As a middle aged man who formally studied a lot of this & got to mingle with old dipolomats in the '90's, there is no question that a deep form of influence has happened in western ultra-conservative/right-wing entities/individuals and they've essentially combined allignment of 'values' with old-cold-war unconscious thinking that condescends to Ru by accepting its claims and internalizing those claims as truth, when they are literal facades and gaslights by Ru since the 1920's till today. Not even one thing has changed for the Ru's since the 1920's. Not one.

but the $300B..sum is rightfully owned by and MORE needed by the Ukrainians than the Ru's, in every sense. Ru has constant income still now, in huge numbers that can keep their ppl fed. In contrast, Ukr is struggling and needs at least $200B to just survive for the next period while the economy starts running better going forward.

@wheezysqueezebox7651 BINGO! over the past twenty years increasingly, conservatives in the US have forced a new form of social chaos onto the rest of society, i.e normal law abiding ppl. Pushing ppl to take up arms for self defense was the first obvious clue that conservatives didn't want law enforcement to do actual safety-work, etc. It's all part of how fascism works in a morally-nihilistic society that they've been pushing on us since the '90's. We will resist it and re-form it all and make gvt function again, which was THE backbone of our national fabric and local fabric in most areas.

in the '90's Ru didn't show any interest in becoming part of EU or Nato, even though the west stated that that was very possible! Ru knew that its way of life with actual serfdom levels of tribute/corruption was imcompatible with the west. The best way to understand this is to realize simple facts of the field of finance and accountancy: when Saab cars was needing a new owner to rescue it, the most viable one was really a russian financed co/guy but his past wrt dirty money was disqualifying. Ukr had previously been under extreme hostile influence politically!i If u dn't understand what that entails, ie how harassment of a violent type, and incentives and disincentives work by pathologically bent and deeply well organized aggressive enemy, who has a 1M personnel-staffed intell/propaganda/services set of insituttions JUST to do surveillance and operations toward the outside world, then u just are missing THE WHOLE PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes that IS what the DJT Admin is attemping to do to our previously smoothest running economy on the planet in the past four years and overall past 80 years. The new-right is a radical socially-subversive movement which has used increasing levels of implied violence and is now using classic techniques of autocrats to corrupt the system itself. It's hard for us americans to understand quickly bcuz we've literally never been assaulted like this. We are waking up day by day now. Some keen american minds in the know are saying that within a few months, something will give way or there will be something like civil war. As a middle aged very calm american, i dn't disagree. Within weeks there could be constitutional crisis and then if the Admin does not back down, a coup or what will legally be a couter-coup.

@jackorchard1279 they dn't move back to Ru bcuz they're the descendants of opportunists OR bully-types: this is why the Baltics need to be very wary and untrusting of their ru-ethnic residents. This is not a game and we westerners need to assist the Baltics in true security which means no internal manipulation by Russian residents.

u'd have to explain what evidence u see for this, visavis 20th century history, and prior. There's almost no evidence for this claim which is likely founded in the classic bias which happens when ppl are 'influenced' by the constant aggressive propaganda from Ru /alligned sources. It's preciesly in the long run that Ukr will be entirely free, that is the trend with a large tribe when an imperial system is in slow fragmentation since 1991, in the modern world whose entire success was founded on anti-imperial concepts, and economic success and systems. @robertlock622 that's why the 20th century modernity lesson was that Ru has to be contained. That's possible bcuz of the modern economy /high-tech capabilities being western-based. Ru WILL be contained and it may take demilitarization to do it, obviously
