These individuals in uniform will ultimately face social or even legal consequences in some cases for the harm they did to travellers, to residents, to citizens.

Mania would be the more appropro term but in any case he's extremely downplaying the arbitrary abuses that have happened to 20 year residents, including physical harm to a german american engineer who is married to a physician here. We yanks have no doubt what is actually happening: an orchestrated attempt at cowing society into passivity and fear. This guy is pathetic and disgusts me as a middle aged centirst myself .   3. yep this guy is pathetic and trying to excuse clearcut abuses that happened to brit, a german-american, and at least one canuck who was absolutely manipulated into incarceration. We yanks are soon going to counter-revolt if this drop into authoritarianism continues which it looks like the WH is trying mightily, by defying the courts since first week of April. Coming months will determine much of the world's economic fate.
