I went to the school in the U.S. that is known for high level political, legal and international matters, G.U.   7. well, I'm a Yank and u Brits have zero responsibility for what our WH/DJT has done. In fact the UK led the way originally w/ the quantities and qualities of the mil support, which is a fascinating fact & impressed me a lot, AND showed me that Biden's pre-war strange-talk nonsense-talk toward Ru that the US would have limited potential responses depending on how big an attack Ru would make. Then when Ru attacked fully, the US did not respond militarily at all, ever, and took months to start mil support for Ukr. THAT was a failure of biblical proportions. I'm a life long liberal, for reference.

She also has the ineffable combo of ferocious strength and that of the genteel and noble. There's only a few ppl who are like that, in the world. Imho, i think Ukr will prevail strongly, and it's mostly bcuz of the ppl's spirit /character, but also the Ukr personality, which many of us have always known was one of the firmest on the planet.

I happen to be somewhat with the Slovak national traits/characteristics/personality of sorts. And i was involved w/a Slovak long ago, who had a strange timidity that was like nothing i've ever encountered in anyone. SK citizens need our international support so they can feel supported and the gvt will know that the stupid rhetoric heard in recent times there from Fico and others is not believed by normal thinking ppl anywhere. And she doesn't always show her incredibel intellect which has blown me away actually, and i've been around towering intellects in my life, with me far below them. In her channel generally, her combination of joy, passion, tenderness, rawness and biting rebuke of the evil & repugnance of the enemy, has been something to deeply respect & be in jaw-dropping awe of.

One thing so few ppl grasp is how a military can only win w/ will power. Ukr mil has willpower in spades, and many mil's don't actually. Zelen makes more nuance when he uses it, but generally it's not a useful word when fighting against a regime like PooTin's, which is seriously psychopathic, and wants everyone to think its psychotic (crazy) but that's mostly how theatrical bullies do their thing so that we think there's no way to deal w/ them when in fact they can be dealt w/ with equivalent responses to force. Until the West provides the right weapons, whichever are possible fastest, ie defensive (missile complex interceptors that take forever to produce apparently) or offensive. There IS a moral obligation to do so as well but the practical alone, i.e preserving world trade, food prices, etc, is reason enough for the West to assist Ukr as much as possible, incluidng up to military involvement. This is obvious to ppl who paid attention in school, particularly those who read a fair bit, from history, or sociology, or criminology, or anthro, or philo or this that or the other things.

This is THE most obvious thing of course, and some of us involved in international affairs in the '90's started realizing all of this when the former Yugo wars were happening & both the U.S. and Germany needed to do more and do more earlier than they did, in the opinions of me and many others. Clinton was late, as were the Germans. Many of us knew that it signalled bad things to come. I knew Ukr's were very unusually strong since 3 years ago, but it's quite extraordinary. Today for the first time ever i told off a Ukrainian man, who is here in the U.S. and made a comment on a warrior's post on FB. The commenter was being defeatist and like the worst hybridized distortion of reality wrt politics. Frankly almost was most disgusted than i usually am w/ ruskies, so that's really saying something. I wrote pretty bluntly toward him, though not too harshly since he's a refugee from this horrific war.

The stoppage then for some months/years caused trillions of damage ultimately and some of those repairs were just completed recently thirty yrs after the fact!

  73. i was so impressed w/ his speech, it was an absolute slamdunk of a speech, truly historic, as speeches go, let alone speeches of a biblical-scale geopolitical nature. Zelen really is incredibly powerful bcuz his ideas and his statements and answers are so accurate, so focused and honest. Unadorned and raw and with EXACTLY the appropriate level of attitude viasvis various parties, including the EU members and the U.S. in many of his stmts in past, which i as an american deeply appreciated, bcuz frankly they will /have affected U.S. foreign policy to at least some extent. Imho, the U.S. system of foreign policy is having to go thru an internal reformation due to this war. DJT will perhaps make that very difficult (he's anti DOState and last time it was hell and could be even far worse this four years. More importantly he plans supposedly historic changes at CIA which have some expert retired insiders concerned, and i've almost no clue but i am worried, bcuz i've studied a lot about behavioral sci's and psy and mostly spent so many hours of many years studying the business and investment world::: and my sum total understanding is that teams like DJT's are truly dangerous domestically bcuz basically they're extreme radicals, i.e willing to severely disturb THE smoothest running socio-econ system of a not small population, in the world. It's really dangerous for the obvious reasons. Otoh i have to admit that i can't quite gauge it yet, but the past 48 hours were a dire introduction and it'd be insane to be optimistic. He chose to formally socially divide the nation, in a very core-moral sense re the insurrectionists, all 1200 of them, many who literally attempted murder of some police officers. So, it's bad timing visavis Ukr but then again, we could say it's perfect timing bcuz imho, Ukr's nobility in action has helped to keep some americans' vision clear. In any case it's time for the allies to help UKR try to put enormous pressure on PooTin, and unfortunately it's hard to see DJT doing that, but i guess u never know. I believe a coalition should privately threaten Ru that it would attack Ru forces in the south (presumably to create a much better buffer zone), bcuz Ru appears extremely constrained, AND ironically i believe they're self-constrained too bcuz they know that if they really start hammering Kyiv/odesa, even just Kharkiv, then Ru would be in a much worse negotiating position, or might even be immediately attacked by a coalition, with no threat warning of such attack. Anyway, not likely bcuz DJT is quite passive unfortunately. I personally believe he's so passive that he's dangerous as fk-all, as we say in north american english at least.

  76.  @yoda1728  each one is not even slightly impossible: it's precisely what was done in the '45 + period, and the only reason Ru has gotten this bad is they used slow boil over past 20 years, to start bullying ppl: they started by playing games w/ gas actually, to SK, Austria, et al. Around same time, it invaded Georgia. This is basic sociological criminology and any psychologist, sociologist, criminologist, political scientist can explain it to Biden, or whoever will be in charge during DJT's 'presidency' (which is in quotes bcuz it's not technically legal, fyi, bcuz the US constiution default diqualfies (automatically!) anyone who wins the seat but has pushed an insurrection and that fact was known by a court (three courts verified that fact). But yes, Ru will b defeatd at some point.   81. and IF (hopefully) the actual oil pumping areas grind to a halt and thus the lines cannot be maintained (there is a complex process involved that often becomes impossible when pumping must stop for an extended time (even just weeks or months can cause severe damage costing hunreds of billions to repair and can ONLY BE DONE BY WESTERN COMPANIES! That is what happened to Ru in the '90 s, some of those damaged lines didn't get up and running until very recently !! It took thirty years to 100% fully repair what was damaged in a mere year or two of non pumping, upon the 'temporary' stoppages of pumping when the Ussr folded. And Ussr was a lot less careless than today's Russia/russians. Russians are not the organized ppl that everyone seems to think. They and their ussr are/were profoundly 'not organized' or not competent is how we think of it.

The letter is very short and very very profound, and he turns down the offer of personal rescue bcuz it is cowardly in his eyes and bcuz he is so surprised and disappointed that the U.S. did not assist the nation itself more. The letter also diplomatically and subtlely shames the U.S. and even may have other subtext subtlety that is hard to speculate on. Ukr will be so effing lethal when they get (make some) a few of this and that types of weapons that they actually dn't yet have or dn't have nearly enough of so as to use a combined armed strategy in particular sub-theatres. I'm a liberal now, and i condemn the Biden Admin for early-on slow-walking of the adequate weapons when Ru had plainly shown genocidal intent. I will NEVER forgive him/team for that, EVER. Those who live in darkness & the allegorically-described cave in the famous story, are like the Ru's who literally live in a collective defeatist delusion where the self is annhilated & the collective pseudo-sacrifice is their rationalization (but all it really is is their poetic way of describing a severe deficit of imagination, knowledge & structured-thinking. (I am not slavic and i barely learned the basics of the Ru language long ago, so I hesitate to describe ru's or slavic thinking styles. And i realize they are slavicized non-slavs as a tribe, actually, though that's probably irrelevant).
