so true. The Ukrainians who attempt so intelligently to notify the world of their predicament & their efforts, are some of the most interesting and genuine ppl i've ever heard/read. From Anna to Starskyi to the parliamentarians such as Kira Rudik and Ms. Sovsun. We in the U.S. have no such ppl for the most part, at least who are high/ish profile like these Ukrainians. Anna et al are an inspiration to us now during our darkest hours, ironically, even though true dark hours are taking place in Ukraine, especially since summer onward.

very good observation: in fact, during holiday end of year period in the christian world, a lot of tension does boil over and mistakes get make. It's also colder weather and that contributes to bad decisions. Fwiw, yes my own older friend ended up in IC/care; this is classic for many ppl

while it's a nice idea in a sort of fantasy-land, it's particularly nonsensical for the U.S. to be that protector-entity; the whole reason there's so much difficulty and slowness during these horrific three years when western civilization has been under direct violent attack for the first time since WW2, is bcuz the U.S. and Europe weren't in appropro condition to be such a protector. That has been the whole problem! That problem is undergoing a transformation as the threat has grown dramatically over this past year, and we will sober up, or we will not have a future ourselves!

@Starlight-AG oh yes! I'm a yank and he was one of our few deeply intelligent leaders, probably the wisest we've had. Obama was quite wise as well, but so many others were not.

yes, and they simply showed it can be done,and should be done. They have set the example AND they have become what is now estimatd to be the most capable military in the world. The US and other armies are now in the process of incorporating new training ideas and methods based on what Ukrainians have been dealing with. We allies will need to work with Ukraine to establish the best set of allied efforts even just in military training alone, let alone possible future joint operations in actual war theatres.
