Bcuz he wants to fight and mostly he need to delay, bcuz his goal is to stay unpunished at a minimum, or his dream, a violent take-over with assitance of some fantasy of a breakaway section of US military and LEO's etc, aka fascist fantasists brown-shirt armed-street-gang orientated american nightmare, which is what Trump naturally would want. As he asked the main street gang "Proud Boys" to stand by, when they were poised to do violence on his behalf. There's nothing new under the sun, and the united states's and various states' LEA's and the military if need be, will start arresting key folks who are trying to intimidate the gvt & courts in order to disable governance of the country. The new-right is not gonna win this and there won't be a GOP president of a far-right nature, for the forseeable future, i.e 50 years at least.
