  4. Hmm, HDD > SSD...SSDs need some kind of current after xx years*. Magnetic plates do not. With that said: My Personal exp. = A Quantum Maverick 270MB from 1994 - Still going and a Quantum Fireball 3.2GB in my FIRST x86-build from 1997 - Still going! ..guess i'm lucky then? *it's thé theory - not many 30yo SSDs around yet... PS. SURE i've got an optical drive(Blu' burner) in my main rig to this day - 'cause i'm OLD like you aka growing up with floppies and CD(rom)s - and 'cause "The Cloud" ain't EVERYTHING ;-)

  8. When was that? My first music CD's from 1991 - and it's geting a bit "scratchy" even with no throwing around...then again - IT still plays 'cause it's ROXETTE (and i'm a Hard rock - Metal person) 😲
